Day 1: MILAN
Arrival: Arrive in Milan with free time to settle in.

Day 2: MILAN - LAKES REGION - VERONA
Explore the Italian Lakes region. Take a train and boat ride to the medieval island of San Giulio on Lake Orta, followed by a stop at Lake Maggiore (Stresa/Isola Bella) before traveling to Verona.

Day 3: VERONA - VENICE
Explore the home of Romeo and Juliet in Verona. In the afternoon, take a boat to St. Mark’s Square in Venice for a guided walking tour, a Murano glasswork demonstration, and free time. Accommodation is in Mestre.

Day 4: VENICE - PADUA - SAN MARINO - GUBBIO - PERUGIA
Visit the Saint’s Basilica in Padua, explore the independent mountaintop country of San Marino, cross the Apennines to the medieval town of Gubbio, and end the day in Perugia.

Day 5: PERUGIA - ASSISI - ROME - NAPLES
Underground Perugia & Assisi: Take a guided tour of Perugia's medieval underground city. Travel to Assisi to visit the Basilica of St. Francis before heading south, passing Rome, and arriving in Naples for the night.

Day 6: NAPLES - CAPRI - SORRENTO - SALERNO
Take a ferry to the Island of Capri for panoramic views, followed by a boat trip to the cliffside town of Sorrento. Spend the night in Salerno.

Day 7: SALERNO - POMPEII - NAPLES - CASSINO - ROME
Take a guided tour of the ancient ruins of Pompeii. Return to Naples to explore its historic, UNESCO-listed quarter. On the way to Rome, stop at the historic WWII battlefield site and abbey in Cassino. Arrive in Rome in the evening.

Day 8: ROME
Departure: The tour concludes in Rome after breakfast.
