Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival & Colombo
Meet at the airport and transfer to Colombo. Explore the city’s mix of colonial history and modern development, visiting the Race Course, Pettah market, Independence Square, and the Gangarama Temple.
Day 2: The Cultural Triangle (Dambulla)
Travel to Dambulla. Explore the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO site featuring five caves filled with ancient Buddhist statues and murals.
Day 3: Sigiriya & Ancient Ruins
Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Later, enjoy a traditional village experience in Hiriwadunna (including a catamaran ride and local lunch) before exploring the medieval capital of Polonnaruwa.
Day 4: Spices & Sacred City (Kandy)
Head to Kandy via a spice garden in Matale. In Kandy, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, tour the city, and end the day with a traditional cultural dance performance.
Day 5: Tea Country (Nuwara Eliya)
Ascend into the highlands. Tour a tea plantation and factory to learn about Ceylon tea. Explore Nuwara Eliya, known as "Little England," for its colonial architecture and cool climate.
Day 6: Ella’s Natural Wonders
Travel to Ella to see the Nine Arch Bridge, Ravana Falls, and Ravana Caves. The day focuses on scenic viewpoints and the laid-back atmosphere of the mountains.
Day 7: Colonial Galle & The Coast
Drive to the southern coast. Visit the Galle Dutch Fort, a preserved colonial citadel. Continue to Bentota to check into a beach resort.
Day 8: Wildlife & River Safaris
Visit a Turtle Conservation Project in Kosgoda and take a boat safari on the Madu River through mangroves. Spend the rest of the day at leisure on the beach or enjoying water sports.
Day 9: Departure
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer back to the airport for your flight home.
